Travel Diaries: Akasaka, Roppongi, Ebisu, Daikanyama, Nakameguro, Shimo Kitazawa

By on July 1, 2018

The last couple of days in Japan, we mainly explored different burrows, eat lots, and relaxed. We went to Tokyo Tower, SHIBA PARK, Zojōji Temple, Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Garden, Tokyo Imperial Castle, Nogi-jinja Shrine, Nori Shrine, Roppongi Hills (shopping/dining/entertainment zone), Sake Shop Fukumitsuya, Tsutaya Tokyo, other places that I forgot to list on top of my head.

One of the days,  we were able to meet up with one of my friends, Victoria. We went to revolving sushi and then did some kaorking.

We got to go to my favorite bar, New York Bar, at the Park Hotel, but it wasn’t as great as I remembered it. I was pretty disappointed with my drink. The view there and the live music somewhat made up for it, but I don’t believe I would go there again.

On our last day, we went to visit the shrine next to our Air BNB,  Hie Shrine, did some more shopping and explored around Shibuya one last time. Look at the eel in front of Don Quixote! I have never seen an eel that long before. For dinner, we met up with Michael’s friends from Stanford’s exchange program.

Yay, thanks for making it all the way to the 3rd post! It took me a while, I know, but Japan travel diary is complete. I’m behind on posts since I have been taking some trips and been busy with the end of the quarter earlier this month, but next up is travel diaries in Portland!

Xx,

Travel Diaries: Osaka, Kyoto, Hakone

Part II of the travel diaries of my trip to Japan!

Before heading to Kyoto, we went a bit further south and visited Osaka. By the time we got to, Osaka,  it was mid-afternoon, so the first thing off the train we did was head to get some food at Fukiageya. I’ve never had an egg where the egg whites are this fluffy. The chicken was also really good. They use this gorgeous local chicken called “Kurosatsuma dori,” and their dishes are oyakodon (rice topped with chicken and egg) style, with some hitsumabushi (meat pieces blended with rice), and yogan-yaki (roast on a hot stone)!  After eating, we did some shopping at the Pokemon center. I didn’t get as many things as I would have liked to, was hoping to get some ditto fusion plushies, but I got a couple of items.

I try to win you back, that is the point of the writing, but you are gone forever

Woot just wrapped up my first quarter! I have two weeks of break and then summer session starts. The first thing I did after my last class was meet up with Shi-an and eat at this place called Onigilly located downtown Palo Alto. The rice balls were good, but it was a bit pricey for 3. I would have liked either another rice ball or a side item.

Thoughts of my 1st quarter:
